I certainly agree with the advice to date. However, you didn't say what size you are looking for? There are some smaller manufacturers that make larger kits such as Apache in the UK www.apacheproducts.co.uk/ to name just one. There are also specialist "Kit Cutters" who will take plans from the likes of Ziroli et al and cut you as much of the kit as you want.

If this is your first foray into scale warbirds I would certainly go with the easier to build and fly kits like a Topflite AT6.
