I am...uh.....RE-building an old trainer I bought used with no electronics.

I have an Airtronics Tx. I want to use a cheaper HiTec Rx. Do I need to buy the Airtronics crystal or the HiTec crystal?

I know (I think), that I need a positive shift, dual conversion Rx from HiTec, but should the crystal match the Tx or the Rx?

(I just asked the same question twice).

OR....should I just spend the extra money for the Airtronics Rx? (I eventually want to switch to a different Tx Mfg like JR or HiTec.....Futaba?)

I am radio illiterate, and I'll bet this has been asked before...I am search illiterate too.
