In my opinion there are two primary reasons for dissatisfaction with an engine:

1. Choice of an engine unsuited for the desired use.

2. Inability of the operator to properly adjust or otherwise operate the engine.

There are obviously "lemons" produced by every manufacturer. There is, however a tendency (occasionallyapparent in this thread) for the unfortunate owner of one of these lemons, or one otherwise dissatisfied with his example to reach the sweeping conclusion that every engine produced by that manufacturer is "To Be Avoided At All Cost".
