RE: Tx...Rx...Crystal???
Thanks guys,
I should have been more clear. I have servos and battery installed. I was looking at a new Rx from HiTec which allows you to change from positive shift to negative shift any time you want to. I cannot....uh well...wifey would likely be displeased if I did... afford a new Tx before I solo. (Which looks fairly close, at least in geological time).
I see no harm in having two Tx's, do you guys? I was thinking that I could keep the Tx and receivers I have in my trainers for when I want to fly them. I have a buddy-box for that Tx and I could use it to help others when I reach that level someday.
The reason I am interested in the select-shift Rx is because I can use it no matter what radio I decide to get in the somewhat near future. I still have not decided which brand I want after I can fly on my own.
Whichever one I do decide to get, I will get the entire package, not just the Tx. I think all of the mfgs offer a real break on the package as opposed to buying the items seperately.
My current Tx is Airtronics, it has 4 model memory all will be filled once I finish this trainer. 3 trainers and one for my simulator. (I assumed I would crash one, so I got 2....THEN a kid at my field needed money to buy a second plane and offered his trainer for $60 so I bought it, ...he's a nice kid).
So now it begins...JR, Futaba, HiTec? I have no clue. I like the frequency module on the HiTec, I like the 30 model memory and the mixing abilities of the JR XP9303, and Futaba has some really nice radios in my price range too. (5 to 7 hundred).
Ah well, I'll start a new thread about this later on, when I am closer to making a decision.
Thanks for all of your help guys!!
