4 * is a great choice. Just take your time and learn to really fly each new plane before attempting the next if you do this after about the third or fourth plane. You will have become skilled enough were you can pick virtually any plane without having to worry that it is too much for you to handle.

You seem to have just started from what I've read here. May I suggest you fly your trainer for this entire season. Then next season do the same with your 4 *. I'd be willing to bet that just doing this would increase your skills beyond belief.
