I swore to myself I wasn't going to post another message in this forum, BUT, i will address these two points, and hopefully you'll give them some consideration (especially since it seems ice man might be leaning towards the dark side...

Just because the tube comes out under the fuel surface doesn't change the pressure situation at all. Basic physics.
I'm sorry to be brash here, but this statement shows a complete lack of knowledge of basic physics. You ever go swimming? Take a nice big breath and dive deep under the water? What happens? Pressure on your chest is amazing isn't it? That's because of the PRESSURE the column of liquid your swimming in is exerting on your air filled lungs... By your statement above, you could dive as deep under water as you wanted, because WHERE you were under the "water" surface, doesn't change the pressure situation at all... Think about it... Or... do the experiment that someone else told you.. Surely you know someone that has a 29 gallon or more fishtank? Or go to a swimming pool... Take a long bit of fuel tubing with you... Put it just under the surface of the water and blow.. Not to bad heh? Now stick it way under the surface, towards the bottom... blow on it now... Pretty darn hard huh? Do this in a swimming pool, and you'll probably barely get a bubble out... of course WHERE the tube comes out under the fuel surface changes the pressure situation, because of the weight of the column of fuel sitting on top of it..
Let me ask the uniflow advocates a simple question. How come SULLIVAN, DUBRO, HAYES, GREAT PLANES, ETC. ETC. Etc. all recommend the top vented muffler taps? Who the heck are the experts here. Them or Mr. Frasier Ker??
Can you IMAGINE what the world would be like if we had always lived by this principle? There would NEVER be ANY innovation... Because OBVIOUSLY anything that already exists is the "best way" to do it. Why try to improve anything, or come up with new or original ideas? Obviously everything out there is already the best it can be...
