Westy, that 48 is plenty fine for a Trainer 40. The silicone tubing touching the engine shouldn't hurt a thing. If it can survive being connected right to the muffler, the engine case or cylinder will seem cool by comparison. I believe the head is the hottest part of an engine, so try to keep it off there.
