Default RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Re: the tail wheel steering (or following) wire and the report of someone having it fall out....you can simply bend a 90 deg bend in the wire in front of the vertical wheel collar assembly....this way it can't slide out....backwards at least!
HAHA, mine came off on third flight.... Wheel too, the top collar wasn't tightened enough, I did track down the wheel in the short grass(I just spent 3 hours mowing the field) Now its just castering.... didn't notice a big difference in ground handling.

First flight with the smoke system last night!! Worked very well... I'm using the slimline pump, I had it set at 60%ATV, gonna drop it to 25%, there was a lot of unburnt oil all over the plane.... I used this same oil "superdir" on my last big plane and it was pretty clean... I used a 1650 duralite pack directly wired to the pump for power...

I also moved CG forward a little, and the knifeedge was much better, not sure I need any mix at all now.

Now I just need to learn how to fly!
