RE: U-Can-Do 3d 46?
Double the fun!! Just put my UCanDo 46 in the air behind my house (I live on a farm and mow a very small landing area 20' X 100') and fly my Magic with a 30 FX, a Twist with a 46 FX and now my wonderful UCan 46 with a Saito 91. I fly at home when I can't make it to the club.
First flight I was so enamoured I too ran out of fuel - the 91 is a heavy drinker. However, with just a click above throttle it will harrier really nicely for a powder puff landing. I was flying on Sunday afternoon - calm and sunny here in Lancaster, PA and tried my first inverted flat spin with it and yelled for my son who was working on his motorcycle to look up. It was holding altitude and doing a very nice slow spin. What a blast. I've been practicing hovering and am at about the 20 foot mark now and getting lower. With the 91 it's no problem getting out of trouble. I just have to keep focused on my limited flight time. I've dead sticked three times now but with altitude to work with. This is the most fun of any plane I've owned (20 or so over the years).
I use my Magic with abandon and it hovers nicely with the 30 FX and is my beater, let er rip plane. Lost the up on the elevator last summer and was able to land it inverted in some tall grass. Had to reattach the rudder though. Got some applause from the guys at the field. It took a little to catch on to what had happened - stripped the servo arm on the elevator.
