I was told by Larry that the K&B 7.5 ( 9101) will fly this plane ok but the new 48 which you can't get or the OS46VX will make a bunch of difference in the speed of this plane! It looks like your friend did a good job building. The wing does drop below the fuse at the center. On the plans ( and in the book) it says to build up the fuse and fare it into the wing. I had asked about putting a 60 to 80 size motor in this plane but was told it will fly just fine with a 7.5 and the wing loading would be much higher with the larger motor! I am flying the JHH F86 now. I had a K&B 7.5 in it at first and would guess that it would fly at about 120 mph or so. I put a new OS46VX in it and now it flies at 140 to 150 ( I think) and it will now do very large loops without loosing a lot of air speed ( like with the K&B 7.5). Larry told me that his F86 has been clocked at 160 on radar with the K&B 48.
