RE: INSTRUCTORS : Speak Up !
I have been instructing for 1 year only and have had 5 students. One of wich is starting to make me look 2nd best, but he always states that i taught him well to others. One thing i try to do is make them concious of the plane they flys performance and the conditions of the day, as our field is on the windy coast. This is done by their cicuits and the effects the wind has and i make them explain to me why to turn earlier or later on certain parts of the circuit. Now for a grumble. Another instructor who works at a lhs always mouths off about my students always crash. He only says 2 of thems name and i remind him one crashed because of a possible servo failure,or that was the result of his wrong doing. The other was a plane he sold tho other student and it did its own thing right from the start and they replaced under warranty when he himself flew it, or couldn`t. Never the less my students still fly hot trainers and one better and always make it back to the strip on deadsticks, while his students came and went with 46 sized P51s etc.He still brings his models back from all over the field when the engines quit. Well im glad i am 20yrs older than him because my slow consistant pace keeps me and my students in front of the plane and not by the tail.
