Default RE: what size wheels?

ORIGINAL: woosh

I just joined a local club and they have a grass flying field. I guess it gets mowed down to about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. I am thinking about an electric whith 1/3/4 size wheels to start out with, could this work?
I fly 40 size glo planes from a very well maintained grass field. The grass is that length (or shorter) and rolled a couple of times a year. I have found that 2" and smaller wheels are fine on a paved surface, but are USUALLY not that good on grass due to the bumps and dips inherent with a grass field. On my Freedom 3D (electric) I use 2 1/2" wheels with no problems at all.

I suggest using 2 1/2" LIGHT WEIGHT FOAM wheels. The added 1/4 oz in weight (compared to regular 1 3/4" wheels) is not enough to be concerned about, but the added diameter will help you quite a bit.
