Default RE: Cap Manic, Glow to Gas Conversion

You don't want to do that. There are three main problems you have with converting this small of an engine. First of all you will lose 30% of your power by using gasoline over Alcohol. Second of all you would have to dilute your gasoline with a 30% oil mixture to properly lubricate your rod and piston bearings because they are sleeve type bearings instead of needle bearings. Lastly to ignite gasoline you would need an expensive Capacitive Discharge type ignition with a battery pack. This will add at least 8 oz. to your on-board flight gear plus the costs start at around $150.00 for this type of ignition system.

The best way to go for a small displacement gasoline engine is either an FPE 1.3 gasoline engine, or an MVVS, or Rotary 25cc gasoline engines. These engine have excellent power to weight ratio and are perfect for 1.20 sized model planes. Any smaller and you really should stick to glow engines.
