Ok I wasn't very clear, when I mentioned PIC I was referring to microcontroller. Samsung, Microchip Technology and other manufacturers make them. They are programmable so you could replace 1 PIC with another as long as you have the right programs running.

Zhen Hua protocol is a communication protocol.

AFAIK Zhen Hua just stick an extra 5 bytes header when it transmits to FMS. If you strip these 5 bytes, it is exact the same as other regular protocol.

Also the output to FMS is the raw data before it is being transmitted. That is why on some older tx w/o trainer ports, you could still build a FMS cable by patching directly to the circuit board.
