I was a fan of fuel dots but after I lost the second one I found a way that works better for me. I run a second clunk on a third line that exits the bottom of the plane, but instead of a fuel dot I thread a small allen into a hard point in the bottom of the fuse, let it stick out 1/2 inch and epoxy it there, then just stick the third line on when flying. You will never loose the plug and you can keep the fill line short enough it's hardly noticeable. Its simple, fool proof, and even I can't screw it up.
