One of my main questions about flying 3D is what exactly does it take to set up an airplane for 3D flying????

I feel that I know basically what it takes like a rearward CG with lots of throw and lots of power..... but I know this can't be all of it.... or is it?????

What would the fine points of setting up one of these airplanes be????

I've heard that in choosing an airplane for 3D, it's more important that the airplane be properly set up, rather than what type of airplane it is..... if this is true then what exactly is a properly set up airplane????
