RE: Opinion on a "Something Extra by SIG
I started by flying with a high wing trainer.. After many crashes and as my confidence increased, I built a SSE with an OS 46. Spent way too much time dolling the plane up (3 colors with striping) to the point that I was scared to fly it as a second plane. I bought a 4* 60 with a TT 61 (simple color scheme) and flew that as my second plane. Was a good decision. The four star is stable and easy to land.. Then screwed up my courage and flew the SSE. The first two flights were great.. On the third one, it went crazy on takeoff and ended up as a lawn dart. Good thing the ground was soft. Pulled the motor out of a hole that was 8"deep. Found that the new Futaba receiver was bad. Repaired the plane and it now flys great.
From my experiences, I would suggest that if you are still in the beginner stage that you buy the 4*. If not, the SSE is a great plane. I am glad I have both, they are enough different that both are a blast to fly...Fred123[&:]
