Default RE: Balance question

I have gone through the same issue lately. I have two planes about the same size as yours. I was having issues with landing where the planes wanted to pull up when powered off and elevator released. I shifted the CG forward just slightly on both planes and now they fly excellent. I did not notice any difference in 3D performance, but I am not really good at 3D so take that with a grain of salt.

Doug Cronkite and a few other guys told me that as a general rule if a plane flies inverted with no down elevator input it is too tail heavy for pattern. There are some exceptions, but that rule certainly applied to me. Since I moved my CG forward, both planes use just a small amount of down while inverted and land very easily. Tracking is near perfect in all other trim modes.

Now if I could just move the sticks right to take advantage of it.... .
