I know Lew quite well, as he is the LHS that I go to. I have talked to him many times but most of his clientele is RC. He is the one that sold me my first RC plane 8 or 9 years ago. I think he has a couple of Shark kits in the back room but not much else for CL. I had trouble finding braided cable for my leadout wires there. I did go thru his supply of balsa for some straight spars for my Twister.

I have been to the flying field there by the city dump, the one Lex. Model Airplane Club has, and its really nice. But I don't belong to AMA so until I do I can't join the Club. I never have seen anyone on the CL circle when I've been there, and it's still a 30 mile drive. I can fly RC in Mt Sterling about 3 miles from my house, a couple thousand acres of farm land that's a wanna-be subdivision with a 3/4 mile paved road down the middle. No houses anywhere to be seen. That's where we have been flying for 2 years. I started flying from my old farm with the trainers, but it's too rough for the higher powered stuff I have now.

But I'm back in CL now and am going to build my hanger up some with that. I just really don't like to drive any more, I guess I've turned into a homebody. I want to stay close to home if I can. Lexington traffic is a headache, and this is from someone who grew up in Nashville TN, about 2 miles from the airport.

The closest CL hobby shop is SSW, in southern Indiana, and that's a three hour plus drive. So I'll do the best I can with what I've got and have fun.
