RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread
hmmmm....gear up, gear down....
i guess i'll contact tech support at Great Planes.
as for Toledo...wow, it was GREAT. i had a lot of fun, got hoarse the 1st day, and based on my conversations, i think we will sell a few drives and constant speed props.
i havent done an update on the website, but will, probably this weekend. im at a meeting on UAV's right now and then to DC tomorrow (redeye from SJC) to give a briefing.
then home to play with little airplanes.
as for a 4 blade, scale sized prop for the mustang, im not sure you can spin it with enough speed and pitch to make the plane fly very well without a drive system to keep the motor size reasonable to fit within the cowl of the mustang. i may be too close to the "trees" to see the forest, but the drag of that big 4 blade 2" wide chord prop is pretty huge. if you had a 8 or 10" pitch, you would still have to spin it at 6000 rpm, and you just cannot do that on a 50cc motor.
but, i am open to ideas. jack, what do you think?
am i missing something obvious?
should have blades to start some testing by end of next week.
hope we have good weather.
cheers
