The other thing that I've found that works great for that and just about anything else is the monokote trim solvent... You can strip chrome off a bumper in under 5 seconds flat with that stuff... I use it for just about everything since I always seem to have a bottle laying around (nothing beats it when doing trim stripes or small patches, stars, etc...) Course I have started to develop this lump on my arm and a shake in my leg, but I'm pretty sure that's un-related...
