Seems to me like it would make a perfect 3D project plane.
I would start off with some MUCH larger ailerons. Get rid of the 1/2" ailerons. Go with some tapered ailerons 2" at the wing tip to 2 1/2" at the fuselage. 40-50 degrees of throw, and about 60% expo...yeah that should about do it.

Drop a servo in each wing, program it for flaperons....WHAHOOO!
Rudder looks ok. Might need a little more elevator though.
Then slap a good hot brushless motor in it and a lipo. It should 3D just fine. That long straight leading edge wing ought to work good. Definatly an OUTDOOR plane though. Aint gonna be flying that thing indoors.
