RE: Evo 46 drive washer & spinner problem
There are spinners out there that work. You have to get one that is perfectly flat on the back (except, of course, for the knurling). No ridges or nuts can be poking out the back of the backplate, or it will interfere with the backplate seating against the drive washer (flywheel). If you're talking about removing the weighted ring from around the drive washer--I don't know if that is possible or not. I know people run these engines without the flywheel, but I'm not so sure that they just don't go and buy a new drive washer--the one for the evolution .46 (non-trainer system) will work on it, I'm pretty sure. On my evo, the flywheel and drive wahsher are one--and it fits over a flattened area on the driveshaft--just like a drive washer would. You can just pull it off by hand real easily. I don't know if the outter portion of the flywheel will come off or not--I assumed that it was all cast together, but maybe not. I know lots of people run them without flywheels, so let's wait and see what they have to say........
Maybe I'll learn something here to.
