RE: couple questions
The Jeti Advance Plus ESC do look pretty easy to program. What should you program? Dunno. It depends on the motor, the battery, and your personal preferences: Brake or no brake is up to you. 2S or 3S LiPoly is gonna depend on the battery. Timing will depend on the motor. Cutoff type is also up to you. You can experiment with most of the settings, see what you like, and it won't hurt a thing.
I made a motor mount for mine. It was pretty simple to do, as it's just a square of plywood. You could get the carbon fiber mount, but for me, the plywood was practically free, out of my scrap box.
Hovering, I've discovered, is all about how you set up the plane. It's got to be balanced properly fore/aft on the wing. It has also got to be balanced wingtip-to-wingtip and belly-to-back while hanging in a hovering position from the centerline of the motor. No plane truly "locks in" to a hover; you will always have to make corrections, and keep on top of it. My Shockie is heavy to the belly, so it always wants to fall forward out of the hover. I still haven't figured out what I can move yet...
