RE: YS 110 surging problem solved!!
Hello,
It took me a while to get the idle screw setting down on the 110. I have 2 other YS's (120 NC, 140 DZ), and neither has an idle screw adjustment to mess with. The thing about YS is that we cannot do the pinch test to determine idle adjustment status like you can w/ normal engines. We have to judge the idle setting by the way it transitions and/or the way it quits.
Last week I changed fuel from Power Master 20/20 to Wildcat Youngblood Heli 30%, and the idle quit after 2 minutes while I was chatting with a buddy. I made a little adjustment, and it will now idle forever until fuel runs out.
I do think that the 110 won't begin to show its true colors until after 2 gallons, as it is quite a bit more powerful and reliable. I am really happy w/ the new Wildcat Youngblood Heli 30%, making this engine spin APC 16x6 @ 9900 rpm. That's 400 more than Power Master 20/20 and 100~200 more than Cool Power 30% Heli.
