Default RE: Need help on selecting TREX setup

I have my T-rex in the air for all inexpensive radio gear except the transmitter JR X-347.

Since you are a beginner, I would recommend you saving money to buy a decent simulator and then flying helicopter later. However, you can try like I am doing for my T-rex:
- GWS receiver
- Three Nano +F HP (24 oz/in): aileron, elevator, pitch
- One Pico BB (10 oz/in): tail pitch
- Align 400L with 13T
- Phoenix-25 ESC
- Li-po 2100mA
- Gyro G155

Reason:

GWS servos take less current, fast response, and they are 10gram Nano and 6gram Pico). RX has great SINAD, and narrow bandwidth for good reception (only $24.00 for 6 CH). More than that, GWS RX V.2 antenna has only 25 inches long, and 500 feet radius working. Phoenix-25 has governor mode allows you to run at constant RPM independent with pitch settings, and all of Phoenix-25 are programmable (BEC, current detector, motor timing, cut off voltage). Best of all, Phoenix-25 has 13KHz digital switching rate, so it has less interference to RX. I have a Futaba G155 gyro available, so I used it. You should have a piezo gyro for more sensitivity. Transmitter should have exponential rate mode. This would help a lot while practicing flying.
