Default Shocky problem

I have a problem with a Shock flyer that has me totally stumped. I've not read any other reports of a similar problem. I've got a fairly typical setup, AXI 2208/34 motor, 700 mAmp Lithium battery, Hitec Feather servos. Weight about 71/2-8 oz. The problem is tremendous power/roll coupling. The plane flies straight at idle. Add a little throttle and it tends to roll left. Add 1/3 -1/2 throttle and it rolls left almost uncontrollably; only at high rates is there enough aileron authority to control the roll, and the large throws involved are almost impossible to control smoothly.
I have the Ikarus Aerofly Pro Deluxe simulator; the Shocky there has no behavior like this at any throttle setting. On the ground, I can throttle up my plane all the way without any visible problem. I tried adding some right thrust with no perceptible change; it isn't really a yaw problem anyways, it's a powerful left roll at any throttle setting above idle.
Has anyone else experienced a problem like this? Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem is? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
