I have a similar setup, same prop, ESC, and similar battery, and mine's a rocket! I have the 4100 Kv EFlite and the V1.1 gearbox using 6.6 gear ratio... I don't know if the higher Kv motor is the cause of your problem or not... What pinion are you using?
