Well, I havent heard that statement made before, and I didn't actually open my case....
I couldn't figure out how...I just made an assumption on using the "tip" and it worked...it is possible that both the tip and the shaft of the plug will make contact with an appropriate antenna input. Try it your way and let us know the results.
