If you tell us which model of radio you have we might be able to get more info for you. A lot of the AM radios have limited range and are made for park flyers and wouldn't be safe for glow powered planes. It would be good to fin out if the radio is a full range radio before you do antthing else. Reason being, the batterys will most likely need to be replaced and why spend the money if the set up isn't safe?
