Actually I have had a fairly long conversation with an eye-witness that was there, just some 30 feet behind the pilot. There was even more to it than reported here.
At any time people get so carried away that they throw caution to the wind, then they chance creating even more restrictions that I have to deal with as I safely pursue my involvement in the activity. AMA Bylaws Article V Section 3 provides for the AMA to issue expulsion or other disciplinary actions. Even my Club has such a provision in its Constitution.
