Beleive it or not, there were some FIFTY different pulsejet engines made in the forties and fifties...maybe twenty from Germany alone. Somewhere I have the old AHC book on jets, shows such oddities as one with a bifurcated pipe, one where the pipe takes a 90' bend, all sorts of weird stuff.
There was a P-80 Stickjet that was throttleable. And the MEWjet that was built from an old CO2 cartridge, that you filled by dunking it into a bucket of raw gasoline...
