I don't think this will work with the Nexstar controller, but it may work with G2 Lite. From what I understand, the G2 USB controller has a serial number that you have to enter during install. The Nexstar version uses an adapter that plugs into the back of a radio, which I do not think will work. The G2 Lite controller is just like the G2 controller, and they offered an upgrade between the two. So I suspect that one would work.

But, I only have G2 w/o USB and G3 so I'm not 100% sure.
