Ok, quick question. Is anyone running just a plain 50cc that's not on a tuned pipe in this airplane? How's the performance?
They are almost an even trade. I am using stock. My engine is brand new with less than a gallon through it and I live at 6800feet altitude, and I still have unlimited vertical. I am also at a glider-like weight of 15 pounds. The tuned pipe will add over 13 ounces (most piped versions seem to be in the 16.5lb range) but will provide an extra 4 pounds(claimed) of thrust. It will also be trickier to get the cg right and it is more expensive and more of a pain to install...now that I think of it, a stock muffler is the better way to go, IMO.
