Yes the plug is stereo and worked good for the first couple years for both Airtronics and JR. However JR changed the supplier on the DSC port which then changed the tolerances by a couple of thousandths of a mm which then made it not work on the newer JR models. It's not a matter of sometimes, it just depends on when you purchased your JR radio. We suggest everyone that owns JR purchases one because eventually you will be getting a new JR radio of some kind if you are a JR flyer.
