The only VQ plane I've flown is that Italian G-202 (I think thats it). I did the maiden flight for a relatively new pilot at our club. It flew fine and the retracts worked as advertised. BUT, you had to be gentle on your landings. In my opinion it was a flemsy plane and wouldnt take everyday type average pilot knocking around. Everybody has a bad day (even above average pilots) from time to time and the plane didnt look like it would hold up to any of that. It flew very well and tracked nicly in turns, a lot like a sport plane. It also landed a lot like a sport plane. Maybe it WAS a sport plane changed a little to look like a warbird.<g> Anyway, it was worth the money he paid for it. The P-51 will probably be fine too.
