Hi All,
I wonder where this thread will end up.
In discussing Australian Hobby Stores my expereinces living 100klm from the nearest shop that carries some hobby supplies and will occassionally do you a favour and sell you something, had forced me to extensive mail order and more recently internet order of supplies are as follows:
Frontline Hobbies in Newcastle: Very price competitive but poor range and staff that I've dealt with have only a rudimentary grasp of aircraft models and equip.
Col Taylor Models in Wagga Wagga: Amazing range, very experienced staff, great people to deal with. When I visit my son who is at RAAF base Forest Hills, I always call in to drool, chat and I always buy covering or something.
Castle Hill Hobbies in Sydney: Since it changed hands it has neither the range nor pricing it used to.
H Store in Sydney: Good range and service.
Kellets in Sydney: Good range of specialised equipment, some prices a bit expensive, good specials, staff with good knowledge but poor sales skills.
Monaro Models in Queanbeyan: Great people to deal with, helpful friendly staff.
Most recently one of the members of our club has set up a hobby business from a hangar at the airport and his car at the field. For the last year I have bought a motor, servos, and various accessories from Ivan. Great service and he is at the field!!!! It also helps when a newcomer turns up and starts to ask the usual questions Ivan can tell them exactly what a trainer package or foamy will cost

.
Cheers,
Colin
