Basic Electrics Questions SAVE ME!!!
OK, I am new at this so bear with my stupidity and ask me questions if by any chance you can answer the questions contained for me.
First off Here is my list of equipment that I am trying to work with.
1. I have a MS Micro 7 channel single conversion digital receiver: got this at [link=http://www.helihobby.com/html/rx_and_crystals.html]helihobby[/link] (its halfway down the page)
2. I have 4 Hitech HS-55 Micro servos only using 3 of them
3. I have a 3 cell Lipo battery and lipo charger
4. I have a Speed 370 Brushless motor with a Phoneix 25 ESC
So here is my problem, I was originally trying to use an old Walkera TX with this setup, but I think I cannot do so because the reciever is Digital (PCM???) I dont know, that reciever came with no literature whatsoever, and I have no idea if it is 1024 or 512 or whatever, if anyone knows or has ANY literature about that reciever, that would be awesome.
So, since I cannot use the reciever with the transmitter I was thinking about the Futaba 7CA TX becuase it appears to be pretty good and expandable, would rather have the 9C with the ability to change frequency by programming, but like I said Im new, and thats alot of $ for me. QUESTION 2. WILL THIS TX work with that reciever!?!?!?
From: [link=http://servocity.com/html/7-ch_7ca_systems.html]servocity[/link] i read that ALL 7CA's are both PCM AND FM (its in the note) , but on Helihobby it says you must choose between PCM and FM. QUESTION 3 What is the correct information are they both PCM and FM or one or the other!?.
Question 4. On this reciever, and for that matter on ALL recievers, what is the deal with power? do they need a seperate source of power? I was under the impression that for my particular setup, I could take the lipo to the ESC to the Reciever (in channel 3??????), and that the 3 servos would be powered off the ESC thru the reciever....IS THAT RIGHT? The MS Micro has a spot on channel 7 that says 7/B, so that adds to my confusion.
I see on alot of websites that are not necessarily for micro electiric flight seperate battery's for receivers, and that is confusing me. Im no electrical engineer here, just a ME, so this is not up my alley, but if somebody could explain it to me I can pick up on it pretty quick.
SO CAN ANYONE HELP ME HERE?
SUMATION
Question 1: ANYONE have information on the MS Micro 7 channel reciever
Question 2: will the Futaba 7CA work with that reciever ( ie is it 1024 or 512?)
Question 3: Can the 7CA work both PCM and FM?
Question 4: Does a reciever need a seperate source of power other than the ESC?
Thanks in advance!!
