What is your start up regimen? How is your prop set for flipping. On glow engines, with a battery producing ignition heat to the glow plug, we typically begin the prop right at compression and flip it through. Ignition is not an issue as the glow plug is already lit and remains so. With a spark plug, the moving magnet crossing the coil produces the momentary spark for ignition, and the key there is to have the magnets well in motion by the time they get to the coil. What works for me is to start the prop while the magnets are about 90 degrees from the coil so that when they pass the coil they are already moving at a good speed and produce the hot spark needed for ignition. My G-38 hand starts very reliably with this set up. I hope this is helpful.
