dug up some pics of some fellow rookie/harpoon flyers nice birds... note in pic #1 that this mod-ed bird and the new rookie have 1 common canard pivot shaft, which looks to be easier to set up than the eurosport's dual differing angle design.. and note canopy on doug "afterburners" rookie II in pic #3. also, i have never heard of anyone being able to make the airbrake hinge work well without cutting it completely out and adding some type of nice robart or offset hinges..assuming tht the belly is curved in that area, as is the old rookie anyway, it is pretty much impossible to not cut out and make work right. the airbrake has its max effect at 90 degrees to the belly (less than 90 increases landing speed exponentially).. and it can be made a little larger too if u want. the benefit to larger is u can come in with a little more power on which comes in very handy for go arounds..
