Could you be specific? You have been using one what? A car battery? A jump start pack? Something else?

I agree with you about auto battery chargers. One can not use an auto battery charger as a power supply to power one of our plane chargers. NG, don't do it! It is NOT a 12 V power supply it is a battery charger.
10-4. Its my understanding that you should NOT use an automotive battery charger as a supply for R/C battery chargers. But old computer power supplies costing about $8 work just fine and the conversion is easy as pie. You really don't even need a volt meter if you know the old supply works.
