I decided to cut out the air brake last night. I wasn't comfortable with the underside of the fuselage warping slightly when the brake was deployed. There is still a slight curve in the fuselage in that area. I planned on using the larger fuel tank (104 oz, 15.5!QUOT! L x 3.8!QUOT! OD), but that would overhang the electronics plate by a few inches, plus you wouldn't be able to get access to the sides if need be. You can't put anything ion the nose (i.e air tanks) because it is completely blocked. However there seems to be room around the gear area or up into the canopy space. I plan to add some additional ply for mounting the steering servo and possibly the canard servo close to the nose gear opening. I also dimensioned the gear openings, see photos below.
