I run 1/8 scale buggies, we just got done building a track at the flying field, let me tell ya, its a hoot. Like you said, when its windy or rained, can still run.
I run buggies, too. I may have the same amount of cash in my buggy as I do in my Vison, sad. Mugen MBX 5 with all the Fiorni hop ups, K3 shocks, JP Mod P5, Jammin pipe and a bunch of parts and tires.
Last season, I would bring my foamy to the track and fly in between the heat races. I got 15 or so of the hard core racers into planes and several of them have dropped cars all together. All the car guys transitioned to airplanes instantly. None of them ever owned a trainer. Most went to sticks and most are flying 3D planes this year.
