Hawk- I have a BME 110 and I know what you mean. You can unscrew the needle 4 or more turns and it will never become slobbering rich.
Just to be sure so you don't damage the engine trying on the ground to richen it up. Send Keith an e-mail. This is the fastest way to get a response from him, but First check the filter screen like flypaper said. If you can peak it and back off a couple of hundred rpm you should not be to lean.
What rpm are you getting? Is it sagging in up lines?
