Default RE: THE FIELD BOX FROM HELL! aka The Ultimate Field box!

I built a custom wood box that is 20" wide, 24" high and 14" deep. the top 6" on the front is angle slightly backwards and houses my charger, glow plug panel, aircompressor guage, 12/24volt switch and a 30 amp twist lock connector for my 24 volt starter. behind a black ABS access panel. A shelf seperates this bay and holds the fuse block, power distribution block and the retact compresser. It also serves as the storage area for my retact fill hose and the fuel pumps. The box is split in half up the middle. The left side has a fuel bay (carries up to 3 gallon cans) and a starter garage hidden behind a door. The right side has two drawers and a shelf for parts boxs. The battery bay sits on the bottom and holds 2-12v 12 mah batteries that can be switched from 12 volt to 24volt. The battery bay has a access panel with the top half hinged to flip down for access to the parts shelf. The box has lift handles on the sides and a tow handle from the back. 4" recessed wheels allow me to tow the box from my trailer to the field. Underneath the charger, above the door is a bread board that pulls out to place my batteries on when I am at the field for charging. The top is designed so I can place my mechanics tool chest on top. The fuel bay has plenty of room for paper towels and cleaner. I tow this back to my trailer then hang it on special hooks I have mounted on the left hand door. I simply switch the power back to 12 volt and plug the auto charger into the 12 volt ports on the panel. At 800 MAH, the charger keeps it full and is a smart charger so it slows the charge when the batteries are full.
Completely with fuel and batteries the box wieghts in at about 60 lbs. I have to lift it straight up to place it on the door hooks but it is a comfortable lift. Once on the ground it tows easily.
