I'm running Pittman 3700's on 12 volts and have reduced the power by using the end point adjustments on the transmitter. I don't know what rpm's they turn but with 3.5" props the boat is way overpowered at 12 volts. It doesn't take many rpm's to move the Darby at scale speeds. If, however, you are planning on incorporating a barge then perhaps you would want more pulling power.
