[Pretty much all succesful mail order companies make money off of shipping and "handling". It's just the way of the world. Advertise a lower price and try to make it up on "handling". It's totally normal. Pretty much any hobby item you order will have some S&H padded, you just need to ask before you bid or buy and factor that into your price.
The world is not going to change on this matter any time soon.
