Pet Peeves: "Can I use your fuel? I forgot mine."
"I just bought this P51. Is it a good trainer?"
That was me when i got started. I went to the weak signals show in toledo and bought a p51 pylon racer and a super tiger. Showed up at the field ready to have a go at it 20 years ago. Lucky for me the local guys were great about it and found me a slow flying albatross for a trainer. even with the .35 and tuned pipe it must have went about 20mph at full scream.

Im Intro piolot now at the field. I try not to get into a mental state that allows me to prejudge anyones intentions. Most are just uninformed. Buy a plane because its cool, not because it flies well. Who really wants a trainer? There have been weeks where i dont get to fly my stuff, but its ok. I get bored flying trainers and take a break between student flights. Good news is i also get to test fly a lot of cool planes for other club members.

We often accuse our other instructor of not even having a plane of his own. He is real good and everyone want him to test this or try this. Remember, its a hobby, its supposed to be fun.

I just finished with two guys that spent all winter on the simulator. What a differance! two flights and solo. Safty issues mostly that are not learned on the computer. Really makes the job easy when they have that much stick time.

The worst student i have is my own son. Its always easier to have someone else work with him, kids dont like to take direction from dad very well, although i am teaching my dad to fly.....
