I know what you mean about losing inspiration. When I was trying to get the Savage arms to fit, I got kind of sick of it and gave up on it in the end. Its very easy for us to sit here and see how you are getting along, but actualy trying to find parts to then modify them to fit is a daunting thing. Maybe if you let it sit for a while you will get a new enthusiasm and let the project progress at its own pace.
I recently had a bit of a brainwave with regards to the wider arms but I'm waiting for the Matrix release before I can do anything about it.
