Glass cloth or carbon cloth will do but the resin will need to he a high temp epoxy and it will need to be post-cured at a tempreture higher than it will reach in use

if you can get hold of some heatshrink tape then you can wind this around the pipe after applying the resin this will squeeze out any excess resin and also give you a nice shinny finish
